Job summary

Adecco is seeking an Under-Occupation Officer in Croydon to join the Housing Needs and Assessments team on a 3-month contract. The role involves supporting tenants to move to suitably sized accommodation, while coordinating with housing partners and local authorities.

You will manage assessments, home visits and risk plans, promote mobility schemes, and maintain accurate case records. The post emphasizes customer service, budgeting awareness, and collaboration with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Housing Allocations processes and mobility schemes.
• Experience in customer-facing public service.
• Ability to work within budgetary constraints.
• Experience managing a varied workload and meeting performance targets.

Responsibilities

• Provide advice, guidance and practical support to under-occupying households looking to move to more suitable accommodation.
• Manage a caseload of residents, undertaking assessments, home visits, risk assessments and support plans.
• Promote housing mobility initiatives, including mutual exchanges and other rehousing schemes.
• Organise and support promotional events, open days and outreach activities.
• Liaise with housing associations, local authorities, landlords, contractors and support agencies to facilitate successful moves.
• Maintain accurate case records, reports and service databases.
• Respond to enquiries from residents, councillors, partner organisations and other stakeholders.
• Assist in the development and implementation of housing initiatives, policies and procedures.
• Monitor expenditure associated with the scheme and support project work as required.
• Deliver presentations, briefings and reports to a range of audiences.
