Job summary

Tower Hamlets Council is seeking an experienced Move On Officer to join its Housing and Temporary Accommodation team on an initial 6‑month contract. You will support households in temporary accommodation and drive move-on into settled housing across PRS and other pathways.

The role requires knowledge of homelessness duties, legislation, and the ability to issue housing offers clearly while maintaining accurate case records. Hybrid working with 2–3 days in the office is expected.

Qualifications

• Experience as Move On Officer or similar housing role in local authority settings.
• Strong understanding of homelessness legislation and duties toward homeless households.
• Experience working with Temporary Accommodation and PRS housing options.
• Ability to manage a busy caseload and progress cases efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of households in temporary accommodation and progress move-on opportunities.
• Assess households' housing needs, circumstances and barriers to moving on into settled accommodation.
• Identify move-on options including social housing, PRS accommodation and other housing pathways.
• Liaise with households, landlords, letting agents and internal teams to progress suitable accommodation.
• Prepare, issue and manage housing offer letters and ensure offers are clearly communicated and recorded.
• Maintain accurate case records on housing management systems.
