Job summary

Nacro is seeking a Sessional Housing Support Worker for Newport. The role involves assessing support needs, creating person-centred plans, assisting with housing applications and welfare claims, and supporting tenancy sustainment in a multi-agency context.

Qualifications

• Experienced in a housing or support role with vulnerable adults.
• Understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality and professional boundaries.
• Strong communication, organisation and record-keeping skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess individual support needs and create person-centred plans.
• Assist with housing applications, Housing Benefit claims and rent payments.
• Ensure properties meet Decent Homes Standard and address maintenance issues.
• Collaborate with probation services, housing providers and other agencies.
• Support service users to develop practical life skills and tenancy sustainment.
