Job summary

Nacro in Birmingham is recruiting for a Community Accommodation with Support worker to provide housing-related assistance and support to vulnerable individuals. The role requires a full driving license and flexible working hours with travel across the region.

DBS and HMPPS checks are required, and visa sponsorship is not offered. Salary starts at £26,807 pro rata with progression to £27,477 pro rata within the first year.

Qualifications

• Experienced in a support or housing-related role.
• Experience working with vulnerable adults and individuals with complex needs.
• Strong communication, organisation, and record-keeping skills.

• Knowledge of housing support, tenancy sustainment, and welfare benefits.

Responsibilities

• Support Service Users: Assess individual support needs, create person-centred support and safety plans, and assist with housing applications, Housing Benefit claims, and rent payments to support independence and tenancy sustainment.
• Property Management: Ensure all properties meet the Decent Homes Standard, address maintenance issues, and guide service users on safe living conditions.
• Collaboration: Work with probation services, court staff, housing providers, and other agencies for coordinated support.
• Tenancy & Independence Support: Help service users develop life skills and move to independent living.
• Risk & Safeguarding: Identify safeguarding concerns and tenancy risks, document actions.
• Record Keeping & Compliance: Maintain timely case records and ensure contractual compliance.
