Job summary

Rother District Council is seeking a Housing Enabling & Development Officer to support the Housing Delivery Team. You will lead negotiations through planning to drive affordable housing across the district and work with developers, providers, and external agencies to maximise delivery.

Education at degree level is preferred, with strong communication and negotiation skills, and proficiency in IT. Flexible working and a supportive environment are highlighted as part of the role.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and negotiation capabilities are essential.
• Experience in managing projects and balancing priorities is required.
• Knowledge of affordable housing delivery and working with partners is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead operational negotiations through the planning process to increase affordable housing provision.
• Drive delivery of affordable housing on sites across the district in partnership with the Housing Delivery Team.
• Collaborate with Planning, Legal Services, landowners, developers, Registered Providers and external agencies.
• Balance competing priorities and manage projects from conception through delivery.
