Job summary

Bridge-It Housing in Leeds is seeking a permanent Housing Support Worker to join our team. This full-time role offers 35 hours weekly from Monday to Friday, with a salary of £26,500 per year and mileage reimbursement for travel. Applicants should live locally and have access to a vehicle.

Inductions take place at our Leeds Head Office; DBS disclosure is required. A driving licence and a commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion are essential as you support vulnerable clients in the

Qualifications

• Experience in support, customer-facing or community roles.
• Ability to support people with complex needs using empathy and a person-centred approach.
• Experience with vulnerable groups or understanding of homelessness, social exclusion, and financial hardship.
• Ability to work independently, manage a varied workload and keep accurate records.
• Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle is essential.

Responsibilities

• Help clients access key services and practical support, including benefits, health, education, employment and banking.
• Support clients to build confidence, independence, social connections and links with local communities.
• Complete sign-ups, maintain accurate records, support clients with key documents and contribute to service monitoring.
• Hold regular support sessions, attend key appointments and carry out routine welfare checks.
• Work with agencies, landlords and providers to coordinate joined-up support for clients.
• Carry out risk assessments, maintain confidentiality, manage your workload and work to high professional standards.
• Support colleagues and volunteers, take part in development and promote equality and diversity.
