Job summary

Bridge-It Housing is seeking a Housing Support Worker to join our team in Doncaster. You will deliver client-focused housing support, guide access to services and maintain accurate records in a busy community setting.

We offer a structured role with fixed hours (35 per week), a full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle for work. A DBS check is required; annual leave is generous and benefits include staff discounts and company events.

Qualifications

• Experience in support, customer-facing or community roles such as care, education, housing or youth work.
• Able to support people with complex needs using empathy, patience and a person-centred approach.
• Experience of supporting vulnerable people or understanding homelessness, mental health, financial hardship.
• Able to work independently, manage varied workload, keep accurate records and provide reliable community-based support.
• Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle for work is essential.

Responsibilities

• Client Guidance and Access to Services: Help clients access benefits, health, education, employment and banking.
• Client Integration and Personal Development: Support clients to build confidence, independence and social connections.
• Documentation and Administrative Support: Complete sign-ups, maintain records and support clients with documents.
• Regular Support and Welfare Monitoring: Hold regular support sessions and welfare checks.
• Partnership Working and Service Coordination: Coordinate with agencies, landlords and providers.
• Risk Management, Behaviour, and Professional Standards: Conduct risk assessments and maintain confidentiality.
• Team Contribution and Organisational Responsibilities: Support colleagues, promote equality and participate in development.

Job Details

Hours of Work: 35 hours working Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm

Location: Doncaster (Applicants should live in the local area. Access to own vehicle is required due to travel requirements as part of the role. Mileage is paid within our company policy. You will also require business insurance)

Salary: £26,500 per year

Contract Type: Full Time, Permanent

Please note: Inductions are held at our Head Office in Leeds on a Wednesday or Fridays and travel expenses will be reimbursed for this.

The Ideal Housing Support Worker

• Experience of supporting vulnerable people, or a good understanding of issues such as homelessness, social exclusion, poor mental health and financial hardship.

What you will do as a Housing Support Worker

• Client Guidance and Access to Services
  Help clients access key services and practical support, including benefits, health, education, employment and banking.

• Client Integration and Personal Development
  Support clients to build confidence, independence, social connections and links with local communities.

• Documentation and Administrative Support
  Complete sign-ups, maintain accurate records, support clients with key documents and contribute to service monitoring.

• Regular Support and Welfare Monitoring
  Hold regular support sessions, attend key appointments and carry out routine welfare checks.

• Partnership Working and Service Coordination
  Work with agencies, landlords and providers to coordinate joined-up support for clients.

• Risk Management, Behaviour, and Professional Standards
  Carry out risk assessments, maintain confidentiality, manage your workload and work to high professional standards.

• Team Contribution and Organisational Responsibilities
  Support colleagues and volunteers, take part in development, promote equality and diversity, and carry out other reasonable duties.
