Job summary

Essential Employment is seeking a Housing Advice and Prevention Officer in Bristol on a temporary basis. The role pays £22.20 per hour PAYE and involves delivering a housing options service to customers in need, in line with housing legislation and local policies.

The successful candidate will assess applications under Part 6 of the Housing Act 1996, review housing priority decisions, and contribute to preventing homelessness through informed guidance and effective signposting.

The successful candidate provides a comprehensive housing options service to customers with varying levels of housing need to enable suitable positive outcomes in line with Part VI (Housing Register and Allocations), Part VII (Housing Advice and Homelessness) and the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.

They will assess and verify all applications made under Part 6 of the Housing Act 1996 in line with the current Allocations Policy including requests for reviews of the decision on the applicants housing priority/status.
