Job summary

Hyatt Regency Birmingham is seeking a Shift Engineer to keep the hotel in good working order and provide a safe, comfortable environment for guests and colleagues. You will carry out planned preventative maintenance, respond to issues, and perform general repairs, painting and upkeep across facilities and guest rooms.

Qualifications

• Experience in general maintenance in hospitality or similar setting.
• Ability to carry out painting, plumbing, electrical or joinery tasks.
• Ability to work independently with good prioritization.
• Can-do attitude and flexible to shifts.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general maintenance and repairs across the hotel.
• Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) in guest rooms and public areas.
• Paint and decorate to maintain high standards.
• Repair and maintain furniture, fixtures, fittings and equipment.
• Respond quickly to maintenance issues and staff requests.
• Keep maintenance records up to date.
• Work with contractors when required.
• Help maintain a safe, clean and comfortable environment for guests and colleagues.
• Support the wider hotel team with maintenance-related tasks.
