Job summary

Hyatt Regency Birmingham is seeking a Shift Engineer to keep the hotel in good working order and provide a safe, comfortable environment for guests and colleagues. You will carry out PPM, respond to maintenance issues, and undertake general repairs, painting, decorating and upkeep of facilities and guest rooms.

This full-time, permanent role offers 37.5 hours per week on a rotating shift, with weekends and variable patterns.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a similar maintenance role.
• Ability to work on your own initiative with minimal supervision.
• Flexibility to cover weekends on rotating shifts.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general maintenance and repairs throughout the hotel.
• Perform planned preventative maintenance in guest rooms and public areas.
• Undertake painting and decorating to maintain a high standard of appearance.
• Repair and maintain furniture, fixtures, fittings, and equipment.
• Respond quickly to maintenance issues and staff requests.
• Maintain safety records and ensure compliance with health and safety requirements.
• Keep maintenance logs up to date.
• Coordinate with contractors when required.
• Support hotel team with maintenance tasks.
