Job summary

The Ganton Arms, part of Urban Pubs & Bars, is seeking a Host to welcome guests and set a friendly tone from the moment they arrive. You’ll manage bookings, guide seating, and work closely with staff to ensure every guest feels looked after.

Qualifications

• Naturally welcoming with passion for hospitality.
• Organised and proactive communication with guests.
• Able to multitask and stay calm under pressure.
• Previous hosting/ hospitality experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Welcome every guest with a genuine smile and make them feel at home from arrival.
• Manage bookings, reservations and walk-ins; ensure seating promptly and efficiently.
• Keep on top of floor flow; coordinate with team to ensure smooth service.
• Know our food, drinks and events to confidently answer questions and make recommendations.
• Handle guest queries with warmth and a can-do attitude.
• Work closely with management and front-of-house teams to deliver brilliant service daily.
• Help spread the word about The Ganton Arms, events and private hire opportunities.
• Bring positive energy, stay organised and help create an atmosphere that keeps guests coming back.

What’s the Gig?

As our Host, you’ll be the friendly face of The Ganton Arms, setting the tone for every guest’s experience. You’ll help keep the front door running smoothly, manage bookings and seating, and work closely with the team to make sure every guest feels looked after.
