Job summary

San Carlo Hale are looking for a Host to greet guests, manage seating and reservations, and maintain a welcoming front of house environment in our Hale location. You will work with a team to ensure smooth service and exceptional guest experiences across all shifts.

Ideal candidates will have hospitality experience, excellent communication, and a proactive approach to multitasking in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar hospitality role.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Meticulous attention to detail and highly organised.
• Proactive self-starter with independent working style.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and welcome them.
• Manage waiting list and seat guests promptly.
• Maintain tidy front of house including hostess stand and restrooms.
• Answer phones and manage reservations.
• Answer guest inquiries about menu and promotions; collaborate with servers.
• Track table turnover and communicate availability.
• Handle customer complaints courteously.
• Maintain accurate guest counts and reservations records.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greeting guests as they enter the restaurant and welcoming them.
• Managing the restaurant's waiting list and seating guests promptly and efficiently.
• Maintaining an organized and tidy front of house area, including the hostess stand, waiting area, and restrooms.
• Answering phone calls and managing reservations.
• Answering guest inquiries about the restaurant's menu, special promotions, or other services offered.Collaborating with servers and kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate delivery of food and beverages.
• Keeping track of table turnover and communicating table availability to servers.
• Handling any customer complaints or issues in a courteous and professional manner.
• Maintaining accurate records of guest counts and reservations.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Experience in a similar role
• Excellent communication skills
• Meticulous attention to detail, highly organised and capable of handling multiple tasks
• A proactive self-starter who can work independently with good judgement and minimal direction
