Job summary

San Carlo Alderley Edge is hiring a Bartender to greet guests at the bar, take drink orders and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages with prompt, friendly service. You will maintain a clean, well-stocked bar, check IDs, manage cash and tabs, and contribute to a welcoming atmosphere while offering recommendations from the menu.

A proactive, independent worker with excellent communication and attention to detail will thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar role.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Meticulous attention to detail, highly organised and capable of handling multiple tasks.
• A proactive self-starter who can work independently with good judgement and minimal direction.

Responsibilities

• Greeting customers as they approach the bar and taking orders for drinks
• Preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to customers in a timely and efficient manner
• Checking identification to verify customers' ages and ensuring that customers are not over-served
• Maintaining a clean and organized bar area, including restocking supplies, cleaning glasses, and wiping down surfaces
• Managing cash and credit card transactions, including opening and closing tabs and making change
• Creating and maintaining a welcoming and friendly atmosphere for customers
• Engaging with customers, making recommendations, and answering questions about the menu and drinks
• Managing inventory and ordering supplies as needed
• Providing guidance and assistance to other bar staff
