Job summary

Sopwell House in Hertfordshire is seeking an HR professional to lead wellbeing initiatives, support line managers and ensure compliant people practice across the business. You will manage sickness absence, coordinate return-to-work and adjustments, coach managers on performance and career development, and help shape HR policies that align with employment law and our brand standards.

Qualifications

• Excellent, up-to-date knowledge of UK employment law and ACAS guidance.
• Confidence managing employee relations cases with fairness and discretion.
• Strong IT skills, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint, plus experience using HR systems.
• Excellent communication, analytical and presentation skills.
• Great attention to detail, with strong planning and time management.
• Flexible, open-minded approach to working hours and a willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Bring our wellbeing programme to life, covering physical, mental, financial and social wellbeing.
• Be a visible, approachable presence across every department.
• Manage sickness absence, return-to-work and reasonable adjustments with empathy and in line with employment law.
• Coach managers and team members on performance, conduct and career development.
• Handle grievances, disciplinaries and conflict resolution fairly and in line with policy and employment law.
• Help develop HR policies and procedures that meet employment law, brand and industry standards.
• Look after our HR systems and data integrity, supported by the HR Coordinator.
