Job summary

InterContinental Hotels Group in Torquay is seeking a Human Resources Advisor to support day-to-day HR operations on a part-time basis. The role is onsite at Hotel Indigo Torquay with flexible shifts to meet business needs.

You will contribute to the People Plan, coach managers on policy and performance, support recruitment and onboarding, and help foster a positive, inclusive culture. CIPD Level 5 is desirable, with strong UK employment law knowledge.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years’ HR Advisor/generalist experience, ideally in hospitality, retail or another fast-paced service environment.
• CIPD Level 5 is desirable; solid understanding of UK employment law and best practice essential.
• Confident advising managers and finding practical, people-focused solutions.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Support the People Plan and help create a positive colleague experience.
• Coach and advise managers on HR policy, performance, retention and colleague matters.
• Assist with recruitment, onboarding and the first 90 days for new colleagues.
• Help identify talent and development opportunities, including early careers activity.
• Use HR systems and data to track activity, share insights and support decisions.
• Lead colleague survey activity, action planning and maintain HR standards.
• Improve HR processes and ways of working, monitoring progress against objectives.
