Job summary

Salary: Pro rata £15,013.70 (FTE £25,878)

Hours and Weeks per Year: 25 hours, 38 weeks per year

The role of Hospitality Assistant is based at our Waterfront Campus in Huddersfield. Working as part of the Catering Team and with the support of the Catering Team Leader, your focus will be on the planning for and delivery of excellent hospitality and conference services. Excellent customer service skills are integral to the role. You should be an excellent communicator with the ability to engage with clients, young people and staff alike and be able to clearly demonstrate our college values of Kindness, Unity and Excellence in your role.

Your key responsibilities will be the setting of conference rooms and event spaces, liaising with clients to understand their event needs and delivery and service of food and drink. Working sometimes alone, initiative and decision‑making skills are integral to the role. You must be able to plan and prioritise multiple tasks.

It is essential that you can demonstrate experience of serving food and drink, ideally in an event and or conference setting, delivering quality at all times. A current Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate is desirable along with working knowledge of allergens and food safety.
