Job summary

Kirklees Council in Huddersfield is seeking a Cook Supervisor to lead the kitchen team at Waterfront Campus, delivering high quality food for students and staff with a focus on fresh ingredients, nutrition and value for money.

You will work with the Catering Team Leader, develop menus, ensure safety compliance and deliver excellent customer service in a fast‑paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience working in a fast‑paced kitchen, delivering quality food consistently.
  • Current Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate (desirable).
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with a diverse range of customers.
  • Commitment to safeguarding, protecting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.

About the Role

The Cook Supervisor works at the Waterfront Campus in Huddersfield. Working with the Catering Team Leader, the role involves leading the kitchen team, developing and delivering high quality food for students and staff, focusing on fresh ingredients, nutrition and value for money.

Employment Details

Salary: £27,566 per annum (pro‑rated at £23,669.70).

Location: Huddersfield.

Hours: 37 hours per week, 38 weeks per year.
