Job summary

Holroyd Howe is seeking an experienced Food Service Assistant/General Assistant/Catering Assistant to join our education catering team in Hull. You will help prepare and serve breakfast, lunch and snacks, maintaining high food safety standards and delivering friendly service to pupils and staff.

Knowledge of education catering and a proactive, team-based approach will help you thrive in our award-winning school dining program with emphasis on nutrition and student engagement.

Qualifications

  • Experience in Education catering is preferred.
  • Good Health & Safety knowledge.
  • Flexible with a can-do attitude and customer focus.
  • Enthusiastic and well organized.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner preparation and service.
  • Maintain cleanliness of front of house areas and utensil organization.
  • Follow food handling and storage procedures to ensure safety.
  • Monitor stock levels and report shortages or discrepancies.
  • Provide friendly, efficient service to students and staff during meals.
  • Attend training sessions on food service procedures, safety and customer service.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Food Service Assistant/General Assistant/Catering Assistant with a background in exceptional food catering services to join our business and work at one of our highly prestigious education settings.

If you are passionate about creating delicious dining experiences that fuel young minds and ignite taste buds, then this is the perfect opportunity to bring your expertise to our table.

Nestled in the heart of Hull, this prestigious independent school caters for 700 - 800day pupils as well as staff and includes not only a breakfast & lunch service but also an extensive hospitality service. This operates 6 days a week. Day 6 is required at least once a month on a rota basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled Food Service Assistant/General Assistant/Catering Assistant to make a name for themselves within the food service industry and be a part of setting the new standard for education catering.

Job Description
  • Assist in the preparation and serving of breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner according to established menus and recipes.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the front of house areas including organising dishes and utensils.
  • Following proper food handling and storage procedures to ensure food safety and prevent contamination.
  • Monitor inventory levels of food and supplies and notify management of any shortages or discrepancies.
  • Provide friendly and efficient service to students and staff during mealtimes, addressing any concerns or special dietary needs.
  • Participate in training sessions and meeting related to food service procedures, safety protocols, and customer service standards.
Qualifications
  • Ideally have experience working within Education catering
  • Have good Health & Safety knowledge.
  • Flexible with a can-do attitude, customer focused.
