Job summary

NCIC is seeking a Part-time House Keeper (Band 2) for Ward 5 at West Cumberland Hospital in Whitehaven. The 18-hour-per-week role involves a 12-hour shift pattern across weeks, with some weekends and bank holidays.

Responsibilities include serving meals, supporting patient dietary needs, maintaining hygiene, updating staff on intake, and keeping the kitchen clean and stocked. Join a friendly multi-disciplinary team delivering patient-centred care.

Qualifications

• Good standard of general education.
• NVQ 1 in hotel services/food service or equivalent.
• Experience in customer service/caring environment.
• Knowledge of cleaning/hygiene/COSHH.

Responsibilities

• Serve meals and beverages to patients.
• Ensure hand hygiene is followed and assist with meals.
• Keep nursing staff updated on dietary intake and complete food diaries.
• Assist patients with meals and liaise with families.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness per trust guidelines and manage supplies.
• Provide assistance to patients and other staff as needed.
