Job summary

Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is inviting applications for a Housekeeper on Ward 19, full-time (37.5 hours) in Wirral. The role focuses on maintaining high standards of cleanliness of nursing equipment and ward environment, supporting staff and patient care with food services and general admin tasks.

The ideal candidate will have NVQ 1 or equivalent, NHS hospital experience, and familiarity with Cerner Millennium; good keyboard and IT skills are essential.

Qualifications

• NVQ level 1 in a relevant subject or equivalent.
• Previous experience in an acute NHS hospital.
• Previous experience of the Cerner Millennium information system.
• Good keyboard and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• To maintain a high standard of cleanliness of all nursing equipment, both in use on the ward and in store.
• To ensure all equipment and the ward environment is in good working order at all times and report appropriately if not.
• Maintain Health and Safety in the workplace and complete risk assessments and electrical checks as required.
• To order and maintain an appropriate stock supply of consumables to unit via oracle, /telephone/email/hospital supply chain.
• Support ward staff with the serving of food and drinks for the patients.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and perform clerical tasks such as answering the telephone and use of the It System - Cerner.
