Job summary

Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a part-time Healthcare Assistant to join Ward 35, working Saturdays and Sundays 07:30–16:00. The role focuses on supporting patients with nutrition, hydration and a clean, safe ward environment. Enhanced DBS is required; training provided, and flexible working patterns are encouraged.

You will be part of a large NHS trust serving Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre, with opportunities for development and a supportive, patient-centred team.

Qualifications

• Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
• Training in areas such as Health and Safety.

Responsibilities

• Assisting patients with their nutrition and hydration needs.
• Ensure unit and patient areas are clean and tidy.
• Be a pivotal part in ensuring that the cleaning duties required weekly and monthly are completed to a high standard and documented
• Management of stock
• Communicating with staff, patients and relatives both verbally and on the telephone, including welcoming to the unit environment.
