Job summary

Spire Parkway Hospital in Solihull, near Birmingham, seeks an experienced Reception and Ward Admin Team Leader for a full-time role. You will oversee reception and ward administration, drive service excellence and support outstanding patient care, leading day-to-day operations and ensuring high-quality patient experiences.

You will lead recruitment, training, and turnover management while promoting the hospital’s values and ensuring compliant, efficient processes.

Qualifications

• Previous reception experience required.
• Excellent numeracy, literacy and IT skills.
• Minimum 2 years leadership experience in a highly customer service focused role.
• Proven people management experience within a medium sized team.
• Outstanding customer care skills with the ability to handle difficult situations.
• Emotional resilience, able to hold difficult conversations.
• Ability to manage change and drive customer service.

Responsibilities

• Lead, and develop the Reception and Ward Administration teams.
• Work varied reception shifts, supporting and overseeing the team.
• Promote Spire’s Purpose, vision, mission, values and behaviours.
• Manage time cards, sickness, annual leave and other absence while ensuring cover.
• Prepare rotas and flex staff in line with business needs and budget targets.
• Set objectives for team members and hold regular 1:1s and briefs.
• Involve in recruitment, training and induction.
