Job summary

Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dynamic phlebotomist to join our phlebotomy service. You will deliver frontline care to hospital inpatients, outpatients and GP patients, working to a seven-day rota including weekends and bank holidays.

We value excellent communication, teamwork and attention to detail as you operate in a busy environment, providing high-quality blood collection services and patient care across our trust.

Qualifications

• Experience or ability to perform venepuncture and blood extraction.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills expected.
• Able to work effectively within a team in a busy hospital environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide venepuncture and blood tests for inpatients, outpatients and GP patients.
• Rotas include weekends and bank holidays; work seven days a week.
• Contribute to maintaining high standards of patient care and service delivery.

Job description

Due to the expansion of our busy service we are looking for a dynamic individuals with excellent communication skills to join our Phlebotomy Service. You will work within a dedicated team who provide front line care to hospital inpatients, outpatients & GP patients.

You will need to be flexible in your approach to working as the Phlebotomy service is provided 7 days a week operated on a rota basis. You must be willing to work weekends and bank holidays. Excellent communication and organisational skills are integral to the post. Being proficient in venepuncture is integral in this role , If you have what it takes to deliver and you want to make a difference.

You will be able to work well within a team, be able to use your initiative and be willing to acquire new skills and knowledge. Attention to detail will be a key characteristic. You will be able to work in a busy environment and have a strongly held commitment to high standards of service delivery.

Experience of dealing with patients and staff in the hospital environment or Blood Test Clinics will be of benefit.
