Job summary

Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking Parking Officers to direct traffic, enforce parking rules and assist visitors and staff across three sites: Basingstoke, Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester, and Andover War Memorial Hospital.

The role involves a 37.5-hour week, weekend work, patrols, machine maintenance using pay stations and barriers, and deployment to other Hampshire Hospital sites. You will stay calm, be polite, and communicate clearly in busy environments.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal communication and clear, polite interaction with visitors, patients and staff.
• Ability to remain calm and assertive in challenging situations.
• Reliable and courteous with a focus on customer service.
• Willingness to work weekends and potential relocation to other Hampshire Hospital sites.

Responsibilities

• Respond to faults with car parking machines and replace receipt rolls.
• Identify vehicles inappropriately parked and issue warnings/charges as required.
• Maintain car parks to ensure cleanliness and safety.
• Place cones and signs to direct traffic or close spaces as needed.
• Record incidents using the health and safety reporting tool.
• Liaise with parking administration and other facilities services as directed.
