Job summary

Bolton NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Craftsperson to join the Estates team on a permanent basis. The role focuses on maintenance, fault finding, testing and repairing mechanical and plumbing systems across hospital facilities, ensuring safe environments for patients, staff and visitors.

The successful candidate will work across theatres, laboratories, and clinics, undertake reactive and planned maintenance, and assist with minor upgrades.

Qualifications

• Time served apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing or Engineering.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Willingness to participate in out-of-hours on-call rota.

Responsibilities

• Undertake reactive and emergency repairs to building infrastructure.
• Liaise with Planning and Scheduling Manager for materials and scheduling.
• Install minor works to support hospital services and upgrades.
