Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is recruiting a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join the Estates team at Leverndale/Dykebar Hospital for reactive and preventative maintenance across the campus.

The role requires a time-served mechanical engineer with HNC level (or working towards) and post-apprenticeship experience, with responsibilities spanning AC, hot water, ventilation, medical gas systems and building services.

Qualifications

• Time-served mechanical engineer with HNC (or working towards).
• Post-apprenticeship experience required.
• Experience with building services and medical gas systems.
• Cross-trade versatility and CPD/training requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe environment for clinical care.
• Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance per manufacturers’ specs.
• Respond to breakdowns; diagnose and fix faults promptly.
• Operate Building Management System (BMS) to control environments.
• Install and commission machinery following manuals; ensure safety.
• Support training of apprentices and adult trainees.
