Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join the Estates team at Leverndale and Dykebar Hospitals. You will carry out reactive and preventive maintenance across the campus, covering building services such as HVAC, hot water, and medical gas systems, while training apprentices and supporting service improvements.

The role requires a time-served engineer with post-apprenticeship experience, ideally with an HNC qualification or working toward it, and

Qualifications

• Time-served mechanical engineer with post-apprenticeship experience.
• Qualified to HNC level or working towards it.
• Experience with building services including AC, hot water, ventilation and medical gas systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe and comfortable environment for clinical care.
• Install and commission machinery, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.
• Operate Building Management System (BMS) and record environmental data.
• Perform Planned Preventative Maintenance per manufacturer recommendations.
• Respond to breakdowns and minimise disruption to hospital operations.
• Train and support apprentices and adult trainees within Estates.
