Job summary

Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a cleaner to join the Facilities Services Team, delivering cleaning across hospital wards and associated areas. You will ensure a hygienic environment for patients, staff and visitors, following NHS infection control policies and respecting patient privacy at all times.

The role includes cleaning toilets, bathrooms, bays and equipment, replenishing supplies, and assisting with laundry tasks as required.

Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare cleaning preferred.
• Ability to follow infection control policies.
• Respect patient privacy, dignity and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Deliver general environmental cleaning on wards, including toilets, bathrooms, showers and sluice rooms.
• Carry out daily and weekly cleaning of patient equipment.
• Complete duties for cleanliness of bays, side rooms, nurses’ stations and other ward areas.
• Stock replenishment: hand hygiene supplies, towels, paper products and gloves.
• Clean internal glass, vacuum carpeted areas and mop hard floors.
• Handle exterior cleaning tasks (bins, car park areas) and laundry duties as needed.
