Job summary

Royal Voluntary Service in Coventry is recruiting for a part-time Retail Customer Assistant to support hospital cafes, shops, and trolley services at City Of Coventry Health Care Centre. You will handle welcoming customers, orders, and payments, while maintaining cleanliness and stock levels.

The role offers part-time, permanent employment with shifts on a rota basis, including weekends and bank holidays. Benefits include annual holiday allowance and pension contributions.

Qualifications

• Experience in a retail or cafe environment is preferred, with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to deliver friendly service.
• Proficient literacy and numeracy for handling orders and payments.
• Familiarity with EPOS/till systems is advantageous.
• Willingness to train and develop professionally.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers and inform them about specials or new products.
• Handle orders and payments and operate the till.
• Prepare hot and cold drinks and serve cafe items.
• Replenish stock and maintain cleanliness and health and safety standards.
• Engage with volunteers and ensure a great customer experience.
