Job summary

Royal Voluntary Service at Roseberry Park Hospital in Middlesbrough is seeking a Retail Customer Assistant (2x) to provide friendly, efficient service across hospital cafés, shops and trolleys. The role is part-time and permanent, paying £12.71 per hour (FTE £23,136 per annum).

You will join a supportive team, work 14 hours a week from Monday to Friday with alternate weekends, and contribute to maintaining high standards of health and safety, stock, cash handling and customer care.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in retail or cafe environment is advantageous but training will be provided.
• Able to deliver outstanding customer service.
• Excellent communications skills.
• Organised and reliable with good numeracy.

Responsibilities

• Providing friendly, helpful and efficient service at all times
• Welcoming customers, informing them about specials or new products, answering questions and accepting orders and payments
• Operating the till and cashing up
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food hygiene
• Replenishing stock and displays, ordering supplies if required
• Preparing hot and cold drinks (Café) and serving freshly made food
• Receiving deliveries and rotating stock, assisting with regular stock checks
• Engaging with volunteers to direct and support them
• May involve pushing loaded trolleys of stock over long distances
