Stockport Council is recruiting a Home Support Worker in the REaCH team to provide person-centred care in people’s homes across Stockport. The role supports reablement, helps service users regain skills, and promotes wellbeing and independence.
No formal qualifications are required as full training is provided; a valid UK driving licence and access to a car are preferred. This is a permanent, part-time role with weekend enhancements, generous leave, pension and ongoing development.
Home Support Worker Reablement
Scale 4 (£28,153 - £30,023 inclusive of 2 increments for weekend working, pro rata to hours worked) This role is eligible for an Essential Car User allowance of up to £963 per annum.
28 35 Hours (can be flexible)
28 Hours, £21,304 - £22,720 per annum, inclusive of 2 increments for weekend working.
35 Hours, £26,631 - £28,400 actual salary, inclusive of 2 increments for weekend working.

Your Role
The REaCH Service places person-centred care at the heart of everything we do, recognising the strengths of the Stockport residents we support. The role of a Reablement Support Worker is to support people in their own homes, 365 days a year, who are at risk of needing social care or increased levels of care. The aim is to help them regain functioning, maintain life skills, rebuild confidence, and promote wellbeing. The role also offers a stepping stone to independence by supporting people to regain lost skills, learn new ones, and adapt to the challenges that living independently can bring.
About You
You don’t need any qualifications or previous work experience to apply for this role, as full training is provided for the right candidates. What’s important are your values and your attitude towards working with people who need care and support, as well as commitment to want to work in social care, alongside being adaptable to an ever-changing demand.
If you enjoy working as part of a team, but are also able to work independently, this may be the job for you! We will also offer you training and support to be able to do the following tasks:
