Job summary

GLL is recruiting a Home Library Service Officer for the Dudley Archives. This part-time role (14 hours per week) involves packing stock, daily van checks, and delivering books to housebound residents, care homes, and sheltered housing.

You will build relationships with customers and colleagues to ensure a high-quality, community-focused service. You will ideally come from a library background, but your enthusiasm for helping others and passion for reading are what make you stand out.

Qualifications

• Must hold a full UK driving licence with no endorsements.
• Experience or enthusiasm for helping others and strong customer care.
• Passion for reading and promoting books to the community.

Responsibilities

• Pack stock for delivery and conduct daily van checks.
• Make deliveries to customers and build relationships with them.
• Collaborate with other libraries to provide a high-quality service and community impact.
• Work largely alone yet contribute to the broader library service.
