Job summary

Hales Homecare is recruiting a Home Care Assistant to help people live safely and independently at home in Washington. No experience is required, as full paid training and induction are provided by our Internal Training Team.

You’ll assist with personal care, meals, light household tasks, and provide companionship across many local areas. A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are required.

Home Care Assistant Based in Washington

Guaranteed hours available (up to 30 hours) Pay Rate: £12.71 per hour + mileage at £0.30 per mile & travel time at £12.71 per hour Shift Pattern: Two-week 4/3 rota - Week one: Mon, Tues, Sat, Sun, Week two: Weds, Thurs, Fri Working Hours: 7am – 3pm, 3pm – 11pm Areas Covered: Washington, SR1, SR2, NE9 7, NE36 0, NE37 1, NE37 2, NE37 3, NE38 7, NE38 8, NE38 9, NE38 0, DH4 7, and DH3 1 No experience necessary – paid training and induction to ensure you feel confident in your role. A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle is required.

Your Role as a Home Care Assistant

As a Home Care Assistant, you'll support individuals in Sunderland to live independently in the comfort of their own homes. Every visit is an opportunity to make someone's day brighter and yours more fulfilling.

• Assisting with personal care routines (washing, dressing, toileting)
• Supporting medication and meal preparation
• Helping with light domestic tasks and grocery needs
• Providing companionship and emotional support

You must have the right to work in the UK. Please note, we are currently unable to accept applications from individuals requiring a tier 2 sponsorship.

• Passionate about helping others and committed to delivering high-quality care and support
• A reliable and honest team player with a positive attitude
• Strong communication skills both verbal and written
• No experience necessary, we have had people join from hospitality, retail, and customer service backgrounds
• Willingness to learn and develop new skills
