Job summary

Hales Homecare in Washington, Tyne and Wear, seeks a Home Care Assistant to help individuals live independently at home with quality, compassionate care. Each visit is an opportunity to make a real difference in someone’s day and your own fulfilment.

No experience is required, as full paid training is provided by our Internal Training Team. The role offers competitive rewards, progression routes, and supportive colleagues across the care team.

Qualifications

• No prior care experience required; full paid training provided by Internal Training Team.
• Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
• A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle is ideal.

• Home Care Assistant
• Based in Washington
• Shift Pattern: Two-week 4/3 rota - Week one: Mon, Tues, Sat, Sun, Week two: Weds, Thurs, Fri
• Working Hours: 7am – 3pm, 3pm – 11pm
• Areas Covered: Washington, SR1, SR2, NE9 7, NE36 0, NE37 1, NE37 2, NE37 3, NE38 7, NE38 8, NE38 9, NE38 0, DH4 7, and DH3 1
• No experience necessary – paid training and induction to ensure you feel confident in your role.
• A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle is ideal.

Your Role as a Home Care Assistant

As a Home Care Assistant, you’ll support individuals in Sunderland to live independently in the comfort of their own homes. Every visit is an opportunity to make someone’s day brighter and yours more fulfilling.

Responsibilities include:

• Assisting with personal care routines (washing, dressing, toileting)
• Supporting medication and meal preparation
• Helping with light domestic tasks and grocery needs
• Providing companionship and emotional support
