Job summary

Dorchester Search and Selection is seeking a Sales Manager to manage Sales Development to Civil and Consulting Engineers, covering the South West of England and Wales with base in Bristol/Bath/Gloucester area. The role focuses on growing new business, leveraging CPDs to architects and engineers, and supporting project discussions with contractors.

Ideal candidates have construction materials sector experience, strong numeracy, and familiarity with AutoCAD/Civil 3D tools, HubSpot, and related

Qualifications

• CPDs to architects and engineers.
• Minimum 2 years in construction materials sector with Local authorities, Consulting Engineers & Architects on commercial developments/infrastructure projects.
• Be highly numerate with sound contract and commercial knowledge, covering contract pricing, bids and tendering processes.
• Experience in customer facing roles within the construction industry where you have participated in and/or led project contract discussions to secure new business.
• Knowledge of civil engineering detailing and construction techniques would be advantageous but not prerequisites; work experience and attitude matter most.
• Experience using AutoCAD, Civil 3D (Desirable), Glenigan and Hubspot.
• IT literacy with Word, Excel, PowerPoint; driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Develop external product and application awareness to contractors, local authorities, architects and engineering practices.
• Assist prospects and customers in understanding product specifications to support design work.
• Collaborate with external partners and specifiers to generate regular specifications and convert to orders.
• Respond proactively to customer enquiries in a timely and professional manner.
• Contribute to growth by securing new business and expanding turnover from existing customers.
• Attend exhibitions and buyer events to promote products.
• Experience in providing CPDs to architects and engineers.
• Work well as part of a team and support team requirements.
