Job summary

The position is full-time, hybrid, based around the West Kent area with 35 hours a week and a base office at Chatham Dockyards. A compassionate, organised approach and strong communication are essential to improving clients’ quality of life.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills and ability to explain information clearly.
• Strong organisational and time management abilities for a busy workload.
• Experience supporting customers in a professional or voluntary capacity.
• Compassionate, customer-focused approach for people with disabilities or support needs.
• Good IT skills including Microsoft Office and accurate record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of customers needing home adaptations and support services.
• Visit customers at home to assess needs and guide them through the grant process.
• Coordinate Disabled Facilities Grants, loans and private adaptation works from start to finish.
• Act as main contact between customers, contractors, colleagues and external partners.
• Complete and process grant/loan applications and documentation.
• Maintain accurate records, reports and performance data.
• Advise customers on funding options and welfare benefits.
• Liaise with partner organisations regarding safeguarding and wellbeing.
