Job summary

Town and Country Housing is seeking a dedicated Caseworker to support customers through the Disabled Facilities Grant and home adaptations process. You will guide from initial enquiry to completion, coordinating with customers, contractors, local authorities and partner agencies with compassion.

This full-time hybrid role covers the West Kent area, with the office base at Chatham Dockyards. You will assess needs at customers' homes, manage grants and loans, maintain records, and promote

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills and ability to explain information clearly.
• Strong organisational and time management with a busy workload.
• Experience supporting customers in a professional or voluntary capacity.
• Compassionate, customer-focused approach, especially with disabilities.
• Good IT skills and accurate electronic record keeping.
• Ability to work independently and with partners.
• Understanding of confidentiality, data protection and safeguarding responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of customers needing home adaptations and support services.
• Visit customers to assess needs and guide through the grant process.
• Coordinate Disabled Facilities Grants, loans and private adaptations from start to finish.
• Act as main contact between customers, contractors and external partners.
• Complete and process grant/loan applications and related docs.
• Maintain accurate customer records, reports and performance data.
• Advise customers on funding options and welfare benefits.
