Job summary

Town & Country Housing is seeking a dedicated Caseworker to support customers through Disabled Facilities Grants and home adaptations, guiding from enquiry to completion. You will be the key contact, coordinating with customers, contractors, local authorities and partners to deliver efficient, compassionate service that promotes independent living.

The role is full-time, hybrid in West Kent, with strong emphasis on safeguarding, data protection and customer records.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills and ability to explain information clearly.
• Strong organisational and time management abilities for a busy workload.
• Experience supporting customers in a professional or voluntary capacity.
• Compassionate and customer-focused approach for people with disabilities or support needs.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and maintaining electronic records.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with colleagues and external partners.
• Understanding of confidentiality, data protection and safeguarding responsibilities.
• Full driving licence and access to a vehicle insured for business use.
• Willingness to learn, develop and adapt to service needs.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of customers requiring home adaptations and support services.
• Visit customers in their homes to assess needs and guide them through the grant process.
• Coordinate Disabled Facilities Grants, loans and private adaptation works from start to finish.
• Act as the main point of contact between customers, contractors, colleagues and external partners.
• Complete and process grant and loan applications and associated documentation.
• Maintain accurate customer records, reports and performance data.
• Advise customers on funding options and welfare benefits available to support their needs.
• Liaise with partner organisations regarding safeguarding, wellbeing and support requirements.
• Support the delivery of a high-quality, customer-focused service that promotes independent living.
