Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment are seeking experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistants to support secondary schools across Wirral with immediate opportunities.

You’ll work with teaching staff to deliver learning activities, lead interventions, support students with SEND and provide classroom cover where required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or HLTA.
• HLTA qualification or relevant experience.
• Confidence leading learning and working independently.
• Strong communication and classroom management skills.
• A patient, proactive, and adaptable approach.
• A genuine passion for supporting young people.
• A valid enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply for one).

Responsibilities

• Lead learning activities and interventions with individuals and small groups
• Support teachers with the delivery of engaging lessons
• Provide classroom cover where required
• Support students with SEND, behavioural, and additional learning needs
• Monitor and encourage student progress and engagement
• Build positive and trusting relationships with students

Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

Location: Wirral, Merseyside

Start Date: Immediate

Contract Type: Full-Time, Term Time Only

Tradewind Recruitment are recruiting experienced HLTAs to support secondary schools across the Wirral, with immediate opportunities available.

About the Role:

We are seeking confident and experienced HLTAs to work across secondary school settings, supporting students with their learning, development, and wellbeing. You'll work closely with teaching staff to deliver learning activities, lead interventions, support students with additional needs, and provide classroom cover where required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead learning activities and interventions with individuals and small groups


• Support teachers with the delivery of engaging lessons


• Provide classroom cover where required


• Support students with SEND, behavioural, and additional learning needs


• Monitor and encourage student progress and engagement


• Build positive and trusting relationships with students


• Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams


• Promote positive behaviour and maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment

What We're Looking For:

• Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or HLTA


• HLTA qualification or relevant experience

Desirable (but not essential):

• Previous secondary school experience

• Experience providing lesson cover
