Job summary

Qualifications

Job Title: Learning Support Assistant (LSA) Location: Wirral, Merseyside Start Date: Immediate Contract Type: Full-Time, Term Time Only.

Tradewind Recruitment are recruiting enthusiastic and dedicated Learning Support Assistants to support secondary schools across the Wirral.

About the Role:

We are seeking LSAs to provide classroom and learning support to students across a range of subjects and abilities. You'll work alongside teachers to help students engage with their learning, develop confidence, and overcome barriers to progress.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support students in lessons, 1:1 and in small groups
• Assist teachers with classroom activities and learning resources
• Help students stay focused and engaged with their learning
• Provide support to students with additional learning needs
• Encourage positive behaviour and independent learning
• Build positive relationships with students and staff
• Support interventions and targeted learning activities
• Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment

What We're Looking For:

• Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable
• A genuine passion for education and supporting students
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• A patient, caring, and adaptable approach
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• A proactive and positive attitude
• A valid enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply for one)

Desirable (but not essential):

• Previous experience working within a secondary school
• Experience supporting students with SEND or behavioural needs
• Level 2 or Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification
• Experience working in an education, youth work, sports, or childcare setting
