Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) for a secondary school in Wirral. The role involves delivering learning activities, supporting students 1:1 and in small groups, and providing cover for lessons as needed.

Start date is immediate, with term-time only, full-time hours. You will work closely with teaching staff and SEN teams to monitor progress, support SEND needs, and maintain a safe, inclusive classroom environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar education role.
• HLTA qualification or relevant experience
• Strong communication and classroom management skills.
• Confidence working independently and leading learning activities.
• A patient, proactive, and adaptable approach.
• A genuine passion for supporting children and young people.
• A valid enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply for one).

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced HLTA to provide high-quality support across a secondary school setting. You'll work closely with teaching staff to deliver learning activities, support students 1:1 and in small groups, and provide cover for lessons where required. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant looking to develop their skills and take on greater responsibility within a school environment.

What We're Looking For

• Relevant qualifications such as HLTA status, Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent
