Job summary

The Federation Abbey Infant and Junior School seeks a proactive Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a federated school. The successful candidate will work across the primary age range, lead whole-class learning during PPA, and support pupils with varying needs, under the guidance of teaching staff.

Excellent English and Maths skills are required, along with HLTA qualification. The post is permanent, 32.5 hours, term-time plus inset days, with a pro rata salary range reflecting SCP

Qualifications

• Holds HLTA qualification
• Experience working across the primary age range
• Excellent levels in English and Maths
• Ability to lead whole-class learning during PPA, planned absence, and emergency cover
• Brings energy, initiative and a positive attitude
• Builds excellent relationships with pupils, staff and families
• Experience supporting children with varying challenges

Responsibilities

• Administer basic first aid when required (training provided)
• Support across federation with primary-age pupils
• Maintain calm, safe learning environments and support class teachers
