Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a reliable Higher Level Teaching Assistant for a primary school in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire. You will support teachers, lead targeted interventions, and assist with pupil progress across year groups.

This HLTA role offers structured daily routines, cover for lessons and opportunities to develop classroom experience alongside experienced staff. A Level 4 qualification or HLTA status is preferred.

Qualifications

• Applicants should have strong experience in a primary school and be confident supporting pupils across different year groups.
• A Level 4 qualification or recognised HLTA status would be advantageous, alongside experience leading interventions or covering lessons independently.
• Structured environment and opportunity to develop classroom experience while working with experienced staff.

Responsibilities

• Supporting teachers with day-to-day classroom delivery.
• Leading small-group learning and intervention sessions.
• Providing cover for lessons when required.
• Supporting pupils with additional learning needs.
• Reinforcing behaviour and classroom expectations.
• Monitoring pupil engagement and feeding back to teaching staff.
• Helping prepare resources and learning activities.
