Job summary

Aspire People are recruiting an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to work in a Central Birmingham primary school. This role involves supporting teaching and learning, leading activities in the teacher's absence and delivering targeted interventions across EYFS to KS2.

The successful candidate will have an HLTA qualification, strong classroom management, and excellent communication skills. This position is based in Birmingham with flexible options and ongoing support from Aspire

Qualifications

• Must hold a recognised HLTA qualification/status.
• Previous experience working within UK primary schools is essential.
• Strong knowledge of the UK National Curriculum.
• Confidence leading whole-class learning activities.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• A genuine passion for supporting children's development.

Responsibilities

• Supporting teaching and learning across the primary curriculum.
• Leading lessons and delivering planned activities in the teacher's absence.
• Providing targeted interventions for individuals and small groups.
• Supporting pupils with additional learning needs and SEND.
• Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback to teaching staff.
• Promoting positive behaviour and maintaining an engaging learning environment.
• Working closely with class teachers and senior leadership.
