Job summary

Pioneer Education is seeking an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to work in schools in Bournville, Birmingham. The HLTA will support teaching and learning, lead activities, and help pupils reach their potential.

We welcome applicants with HLTA qualifications or equivalent experience who can thrive in a supportive school environment and adapt to pupils’ needs with strong communication and organisational skills.

Qualifications

• Experience as HLTA or Teaching Assistant and confidence leading activities.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-planned lessons and activities to individuals, small groups and classes.
• Provide classroom cover and supervise pupils when needed.
• Support teachers with lesson prep, planning and assessment.
• Monitor pupils' progress and give feedback to staff.
• Adapt activities to meet diverse learning needs.
• Support pupils with SEN and promote inclusive learning.
• Manage classroom behaviour effectively and encourage engagement.
• Collaborate with teachers and school staff.
• Follow school policies and safeguarding procedures.
