TeacherActive Limited is recruiting a confident Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) for a welcoming primary school in Pontypridd. You will lead whole-class learning and support two SLT members with meetings, while maintaining a full timetable and strong classroom management.

The role offers a daily rate of £110–£120, a full-time, long-term contract, and a commitment to CPD and staff growth within a supportive school culture.

Qualifications

• HLTA qualification or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide whole-class cover for two members of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) while they attend meetings.
• Deliver PPA cover across the school to complete a full-time timetable.
• Ensure continuity of learning and maintain effective classroom management.
• Collaborate with staff to support development and CPD initiatives.

Salary: £110 - £120 per day

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a welcoming primary school based in Pontypridd, who are looking to appoint a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA). The school promotes a positive culture centred around learning, development and growth, with a strong emphasis on continuous professional development (CPD) and supporting staff to reach their full potential.

The school is looking to take on a confident Higher Level Teaching Assistant on a full-time, long-term basis for the remainder of the academic year. The successful HLTA will primarily provide whole-class cover for two members of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) while they attend meetings and fulfil leadership responsibilities, alongside delivering PPA cover across the school to complete a full-time timetable, ensuring continuity of learning and effective classroom management.

The successful Higher Level Teaching Assistant will have:

• HLTA qualification or equivalent relevant experience
• Experience delivering lessons and leading whole-class learning within a primary school setting
• A strong understanding of the primary curriculum
• Excellent classroom management skills and the confidence to work independently
• The ability to adapt teaching approaches to meet the needs of different year groups and learners
• A positive, proactive attitude with a commitment to professional development and teamwork
