Job summary

Kemp Recruitment Limited is seeking an experienced Hire Controller to join our busy Essex team. The role requires strong admin, coordination, and customer service skills to manage workloads, documentation, stock, and client communications in a fast-paced environment.

You will ensure compliance standards such as LOLER and PDI, oversee invoicing and parts supply, and provide support to the hire desk while maintaining GDPR and accuracy in all records.

Qualifications

• Proven background in administration, coordination, or a similar support-focused role.
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
• Highly organised with excellent time management.
• Confident using Microsoft Office applications.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality.
• Experience in or familiarity with equipment hire or engineering support is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Manage engineer workloads, daily schedules, overtime and client communications.
• Oversee job documentation, quotations, invoicing, stock management and parts supply.
• Provide admin support to the hire desk, handling enquiries, contracts, logistics and telesales.
• Ensure equipment meets LOLER and PDI compliance.
• Coordinate parts enquiries and supplier relationships, maintain stock records.
• Monitor driver, vehicle and fleet compliance and audit records.
• Coordinate visitors and contractors: sign-in, documentation, safety and PPE.
• Provide general admin and customer support with GDPR compliance.
