Job summary

Briggs Equipment is seeking a Hire Controller to join the Short-Term Hire team in Cannock. You will quote, secure, and coordinate hire of materials handling and ancillary equipment, acting as a central contact for customers from enquiry to completion.

You will manage 200+ on-hire/off-hire transactions monthly, oversee invoicing, and collaborate with the Sales Team to drive growth and profitability. A customer-focused approach and strong organisational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong organisational abilities and time management.
• Self-motivated with drive to meet targets.
• Knowledge of mechanical equipment in materials handling is advantageous.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and able to learn business systems.

Responsibilities

• Handle all customer enquiries promptly via telephone, email, and other channels.
• Process and manage 200+ on-hire and off-hire transactions per month.
• Ensure accurate and timely invoicing of hire transactions.
• Coordinate asset locations and arrange transport and inspections for STH hires.
• Prepare and follow up on hire agreements and quotations for customers.
• Maintain strong relationships with Sales Team and customers to support growth.
• Identify sales opportunities and relay them to the Business Development Team.
• Support bespoke trading agreements and customer satisfaction surveys.
