Job summary

Ainscough Crane Hire is seeking a proactive Hire Controller to join the Cardiff depot team. You will manage crane and ancillary resources, respond to customer requirements, and convert enquiries into revenue while upholding safety and quality standards.

Reporting to the Depot Manager, you will optimise fleet utilisation, support day-to-day operations, and work across internal teams to deliver projects on time and within budget. A strong customer service focus and CRM proficiency are essential.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English to a minimum grade C or equivalent.
• Rental experience desirable.
• Excellent telephone manner.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Knowledge of CRM tools such as Salesforce.

Responsibilities

• Understand customer requirements and provide the best crane hire solution.
• Maintain in-depth knowledge of products and services.
• Convert hire enquiries into orders to achieve revenue targets.
• Maximise sales opportunities and capture customer information.
• Build and maintain relationships with customers and suppliers.
• Allocate and manage resources and fleet within the depot to maximise utilisation.
• Ensure compliance with company standards and processes.
• Handle customer inquiries efficiently and control costs.
• Keep administration up to date and accurate.
• Work flexibly, including out of hours support.
