Job summary

Cavendish Recruitment Professionals Ltd is seeking an experienced Hire Controller to join their growing plant hire team in Wembley. You will manage customer hire requirements, coordinate equipment movements and work with Operations to ensure on-time supply.

The role requires knowledge of plant types, good planning, great communication and a full UK driving licence. You will maintain records, provide quotations and drive service improvements across the business.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Act as main point of contact for customers during the hire process.
• Coordinate deliveries, collections, mobilisation and demobilisation.
• Provide accurate quotations based on customer requirements.
• Work with Operations to manage plant availability and allocation.
• Ensure hire documentation, delivery notes, certificates and POs are completed accurately.
• Maintain records of plant, equipment, customers and hire agreements.
• Provide reports on equipment availability and maintenance requirements.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and customer satisfaction.

Job description

Our client is a provider of plant hire and specialist attachments to the construction industry across the UK and Ireland. They offer a comprehensive range of modern plant and machinery, with a strong focus on customer service, safety, innovation and supporting clients across a variety of construction projects.

They are seeking an experienced Hire Controller to join their team. You will manage customer plant hire requirements, coordinate equipment movements and work closely with Operations to ensure the right equipment is supplied to sites efficiently and on time.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the main point of contact for customers throughout the hire process.
• Coordinate equipment deliveries, collections, mobilisation and demobilisation.
• Understand customer requirements and provide accurate quotations.
• Work closely with Operations to manage plant availability and equipment allocation.
• Ensure hire documentation, delivery notes, certificates and purchase orders are completed accurately.
• Maintain regular communication with customers and resolve issues or complaints promptly.
• Maintain accurate records of plant, equipment, customers and hire agreements.
• Provide reports on equipment availability, utilisation and maintenance requirements.
• Ensure hire activities comply with relevant health and safety regulations.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a similar role within the plant hire industry.
• Good knowledge of plant and equipment types, specifications and applications.
• Strong organisational and planning skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Experience using plant hire software and systems.
• Knowledge of relevant health and safety requirements.
• Full UK driving licence.
